Meet Tracy, a 38 year old mom, wife, principal, and creative. She was born in the US, but became a Canadian citizen recently (yay!). Tracy has been living in the Nelson area for nearly a decade, and has made it her work to impact the lives of young people. She loves her job as a principal and has recently begun volunteering for a weekly youth group. When she's not at work, you can find her spending time with family (2 sons and husband), or getting creative in her art room. Tracy and her family are in the process of adopting a child and can't wait for their family to grow.
Tracy is a survivor. In 2015 she was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. After undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and radical surgery, she was pronounced cancer free! Tracy began to reclaim her health in the fall of 2016 and hasn't looked back. Stress management and total body health are important pieces of her life today. She can't discount the role her faith has played in her wellness journey...belief in God and support from her faith community has a large impact on her life.
Tracy wants to be known for her joy. After facing her mortality through cancer, she has tried to live a life of thankfulness, finding joy in the every-day! Whether it is 50 burpees on the board, a student making a repeat trip to her office, or another pile of crumbs to clean up at home, Tracy tries to tackle it with a smile.
